Every fellowship EMS Access offers is free to the agencies we serve.

Volunteer EMS agencies don't shutter their doors from lack of caring. But the organizational foundation underneath them can erode quietly: money going untracked, governance documents drifting years behind how the agency truly operates, institutional knowledge walking out the door when longtime leaders step away. Left unaddressed, these vulnerabilities compound. The difference between fixable and irreversible is timely intervention.

Our inaugural partner agency came to us with finances that had gone unmanaged and organizational procedures that no longer reflected how the agency functioned. By the end of the fellowship, they had a working QuickBooks system, clean accounts with proper checks & balances, modernized bylaws, and revised SOPs: the financial systems, governance structures, and oversight processes that give a volunteer EMS agency its best chance of still being there for the next generation. They have since renewed for a second year. Not because the work wasn't done, but because an agency that has experienced what functional systems make possible doesn't want to lose that momentum, for themselves or their community.

Through our fellowship program and summits, we provide the tools, guidance and experience of those who have lived it themselves, bringing EMS leaders across New York State together to share what's working and build toward what's next. Your generosity is what makes it possible to serve more agencies each year.

EMS Access is a 501(c)(3) charity, and donations to EMS Access Inc. are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

WAYS TO GIVE

Grant-Makers, Foundations and Corporate Partners

Grants and corporate partnerships fund the fellowships that place our team alongside agency leadership for a full financial year, and the summits that connect EMS leaders from across New York State.

We are grateful to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) for their founding and continued support of our work.

Honorary and Legacy Giving

A gift to EMS Access can be made in honor or memory of someone important to you.

For those who wish to include EMS Access in their estate planning through a bequest, trust, retirement account, or stock transfer, we’d be glad to discuss how that gift can be structured.

Stock & Securities

By donating appreciated shares directly to EMS Access, your gift goes further and your cash stays in your bank account.

Neither you nor EMS Access will be taxed on what those shares have earned, and you may be able to deduct the full value of what you give.

IRA/QCD Giving

If you are 70½ or older, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA to EMS Access.

A QCD counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and is excluded from your taxable income, so your gift does double duty.

Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

A Donor-Advised Fund allows you to set aside money for a charity and then direct it to the organizations you care about over time.

Already have a Donor-Advised Fund? Supporting EMS Access is as simple as recommending a grant through your account.
